Argan Rose Rejuvenating Face Serum by NMDL’s co-founder Alexandra Spunt: What happens when you take ethically sourced argan oil, a known favorite of ours, and add stress-busting rose? Zweenathat’s what! An awesome line that I had the pleasure of discovering recently. Jayme Barrett, the company’s co-founder is a smart and lovely lady who discovered argan oil (and found her husband!) on a trip to Morocco. It’s a great story. I’ve only tried thArgan Rose Rejuvenating Serum myself, and whether or not it’s really diminishing my wrinkles—rosehip seed oil is a popular anti-aging natural—it feels amazing, and the smell makes me happy. I like using it on my face, and keep it at work to give me little rose-scented pick-me-ups during the day. I also like putting a little on my split ends. Read full review by green beauty expert Alexandra Spunt here.

Argan Rose Lustrous Hair Elixir review by NMDL’s Nicolle Mackinnon:  “If I had to pick a favorite, it would be this haircare powerhouse. Like I said, I can’t resist anything that smells like roses (and I love treatments for my tresses), so it was easy to convince me to test out this hair oil. What I’ve come to love about it is its multipurpose nature. With cold-pressed argan oil, meadowfoam seed oil, sweet almond oil and avocado oil, the Hair Elixir has come in handy as my already-dry hair has battled against the Minnesota winter. I use it most frequently as a leave-in treatment on my damp hair—one pump distributed on my ends helps keep fuzziness away and moisturizes the driest part of my hair. But it also works great as an overnight deep conditioning treatment, which I do once a week, and have seen a noticeable difference in my hair’s softness and shine. Plus, you guys, it makes me so happy to inhale that rose scent. It’s like hair perfume and it lightly sticks around all day.” Review on NMDL here.

Argan Ultra-Nourish Eye Serum review by NMDL’s Nicolle Mackinnon: “I got this persistent, dry, flaking, itchy patch of skin on my eyelid that none of my products could touch. On a whim, I rolled on this silky eye serum as a last-ditch effort. Nearly overnight, the irritated flakiness disappeared. I still don’t believe it because I’d had the dryness for so long. I credit the argan oil and the marula oil in Zweena’s formulation, both of which have crazy healing properties and are natural fighters of harsh, dry weather conditions (I think -20 degrees counts are harsh, right?). Camellia oil, which softens skin, and baobab oil, which promotes wound healing, swooped in for the assist as well. Now I’ve got my husband (who kind of hates any oil as a moisturizer) using this serum on his under eyes. That’s what I’d call a win… Now, both products (Eye Serum and Hair Elixir) have become part of my daily routine.” Review on NMDL here.

Katie O’Sullivan reviews Zweena Ultra-Nourish Eye Serum. She says “I’m a huge fan of eye serums and I’m loving this one’s ingredients, feel and performance.  Quick-drying (making it excellent for under makeup), this serum also comes in a rollerball (if you haven’t used one before, they are so convenient for application and feels refreshing.)  Also, I love the smell of  Zweena’s Argan Rose Lustrous Hair ElixirI love to rub some of this on my hair (ends only as my hair is only dry on the bottom) for a few hours and wash it out.  It’s also perfect for fly-aways or you can also use it as a serious hair treatment by rubbing it on scalp and hair and leaving it on overnight or for as long as you wish. Perfect for restoring shine, preventing heat damage, moisturizing the scalp, taming frizzy hair and protecting your hair from harmful sun rays. Read full article here.

Sarita Coren says “If you are a lover of roses, then you are going to want every single product that ZWEENA Argan Beauty offers. The line’s signature ingredient is organic argan oil… but what takes ZWEENA over the top gorgeous is the infusion of Rose Damascena Oil, extracted from thousands of roses. I found that one drop alone of Zweena’s Argan Ultra-Nourish Eye Serum covers my eye area. The full-sized product comes with a roll-on applicator for easy use and no spillage. When it comes to ingredients, this serum merges some heavy-hitters to nab fine lines, boost elasticity and collagen, and fight free-radicals. The Zweena Argan Rose Lustrous Hair Elixir also incorporates argan oil and the most incredible scent (something I really love in a hair product). One drop when my hair is damp or wet allows this product to work its magic too. It feeds my hair to protect it before blow drying, tames flyaways, and lends an overall healthy luster without being heavy. Read full article here.

“A fantastic new launch from Zweena – the Argan Ultra-Nourish Eye SerumNot only is this serum filled to the brim with some of my absolute favorite oils (think argan, baobab, marula, and kalahari melon seed!), but it also comes packaged in the sleekest hot pink rollerball… Zweena definitely mixes a little bit of magic into this serum! It is the perfect combination of nourishing and lightweight. I highly recommend it!”

Zweena Argan Ultra-Nourish Eye Serum Review: “Zweena founder Jayme Barrett included only the most luxurious, feather-light oils in her soon-to-be-cult-favorite eye serum…Though most rollerball eye serums are a bit too heavy or messy for daytime use, I’ve found myself rolling on Zweena’s Argan Ultra-Nourish Eye Serum both morning and evening — and loving the non-greasy, rosy results. Zweena’s gorgeous all-natural eye serum absorbs quickly… I love how it nourishes my prone-to-flakiness undereye skin with its lightweight mixture of oils. My concealer glides on very easily after using this serum, yet doesn’t slip around or get creasy — my skin is perfectly prepped… This is now my go-to rollerball eye serum not only because of the fact that it is truly perfect for both morning and evening, but also because the pricepoint (and pretty pink packaging). At $64 for a half-ounce, it beats out a few of my former favorites and as I continue to pare down my beauty collection, having a staple product that’s both multifunctional (morning and night), high-performance and affordable just makes good sense.” Read Kimberly’s full review here.

Zweena Argan Rose Lustrous Hair Elixir Review  Leave it to Zweena to complete my rose wardrobe. This hair elixir is just gorgeous — who wouldn’t want hair that smells like roses ? — and harnesses the nourishing power of argan and avocado oils to protect and moisturize the hair and scalp. Avocado oil is one of those underrated oils that is an absolute powerhouse for hair. It’s high in vitamin E and can prevent breakage with regular use. It’s not a light oil, though (you’ll notice it at the end of Zweena’s ingredients list, cut with lighter oils like argan and meadowfoam), but incorporating it into a blend like this allows your hair to get a healthy dose of moisture.” Read Kimberly’s article about growing our her pixie hair cut here.

Argan Ultra Nourish Eye Serum Review – “This is my favorite product in the line! Love the rollerball easy glide application. This has noticeably reduced the fine lines around my eyes (hello 30 next March!). I swipe it once across my undereye area in the a.m. and p.m. It’s rich in antioxidants and fatty acids as well as vitamin-rich botanicals. It feels so nurturing and protective. The best thing about this Eye serum? It completely got rid of milia underneath my eyes. You know those annoying little white bumps underneath the skin? I get those around my eye area from using products that have very dense and rich ingredients. I have never been able to get rid of them until this eye serum came along. I kid you not, within three days of using this serum, I noticed the bumps diminishing. It is a miracle worker.”

Argan Rose Lustrous Hair Elixir Review – “I love using this as a hair treatment two times a week. On dry hair I apply 4-5 pumps (I have very long hair). I start on my scalp and massage throughout even down to the ends. The Mongongo oil is full of linoleic & eleostearic acids, which are helpful for hydration and has nutritive and regenerative properties. I leave it in overnight and after shampooing the next day my hair feels so extra healthy. Bonus: my pillow smells extra good in the a.m.!” Read Britanie’s full review on the entire Zweena line here.

Simply warm, apply to damp hair (and skin, while you’re at it), comb through, and breathe in the intoxicating scent. Rinse out & say goodbye to frizzy, fried hair.”

What is it: Only the most luscious Rose based Argan face serum ($58) to hit the senses and sink in speedily. Another Rose? No, not quite. Rather, enjoy the demure whiff of a memorably Moroccan Rose, which enthralls with its sweet tenderness that never ceases to end… Skin food as some say, the eye-opening serum is a hearty cocktail of Argan (to rejuvenate), Rosehip (to promote cell turnover), Evening Primrose (to improve skin’s structure) and Pomegranate Seed (to improve tone) carriers….The Final Word: A congenially delightful face serum to dovetail into anyone’s choice of night creams. Read full review by beauty oil expert Nav Mundi here.

She writes, “3 weeks of using Zweena in my routine has made my skin feel more resilient, more luminous, and healthy. I look more awake. I think the Argan Rose Rejuvenating Face Serum is superior to a standard case of argan oil because of the added benefit of the rose and pomegranate oils.”  Read her full review here on our blog.

Writer, actress, mother, activist, gardener, vintage fashion connoisseur… that’s Shiva Rose who’s the lovely woman behind The Local Rose. Shiva writes: “Zweena means beautiful in Morocco and I have to say my skin does feel very nourished when I use this serum of rose and argan oils. The pure argan by Zweena is also great for hair and since it seems the popular moroccan hair oil is not as natural as it seems (look at the ingredients) this is a better standby. The founder of Zweena Jayme Barrett romantically met her husband (and Zweena partner) Zouhir Yakoubi in the land of argan and fragrant roses, so this line is close to her heart. The serum contains rose hips, rose oil, argan, evening primrose oil and pomegranate seed as well. It smells divine (rose oil opens the heart chakras) and works wonders.”

At the end of my treatments, I use Argan Rose Serum which calms and hydrates the skin leaving my clients looking amazing!”

Zweena Pure Organic Argan Oil – “The quality of this oil is exquisite  What do I mean by quality? I’m just going to go ahead and say it – cheap argan oil stinks. You don’t have to worry about that with Zweena. This oil has a faint, lovely smell and absorbs into skin like a dream! …   Zweena Argan Rose Rejuvenating Serum– I have been using it day and night and I love it equally for both. It is light, non-greasy, and beautiful under makeup (i.e. skin looks dewy, not shiny.) And even for someone as picky about moisture as I am, this oil was all I needed at night. Somehow without multiple layers of different moisturizers, my skin still looked hydrated and fresh in the morning.”

Megan Porschen

Megan, an eco, organic, cruelty-free make-up artist in Los Angeles whose philosophy is ‘beauty loves nature’ says “I recently discovered an amazing company called Zweena which means ‘beautiful’ in Morocco. They make incredible quality organic argan oil and I love it! It is an ethical company who supports its workers in a fair trade, co-op environment. The oils are lovely and I specifically love and am a huge fan of  Zweena’s Argan Rose Rejuvenating Serum. I’ve tried a few different brands over the last two years and this one is ‘the one.’ The quality is perfection. I use it on my face as a nighttime serum. The smell is lovely and my skin feels softer because of it! I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to soften their skin naturally. The Pure Argan Oil is non pore-clogging, and is used in the hair and on the body as well. There are no petrochemicals or chemical preservatives in their products and the dark glass helps to preserve the oils!”

Britanie Faith, an organic beauty advocate and green make-up artist says: “I am so happy to have discovered this beautiful and passionate brand. I have fallen deeply in love with both of these oils. Within just a few days of using them, I have stopped using my heavier moisturizers at night and have replaced them with these light and incredibly hydrating oils. I love to use the Pure Argan Oil to moisturize my face at night and to put through my damp hair after showering. I also love it for using around my eyes. The Argan Rose Rejuvenating Serum is my favorite for daytime wear and is flawless under makeup. My favorite products are those that you can use for many different purposes and these two oils have no shortage of that… face, body, hair, nails, the uses are endless. These two oils now have a permanent place in my beauty routine.” Full review here.

Julia March Integral Skin Care

Julia March, a top facialist in New York according to New York Magazine and Allure, employs a “whole person” approach to skincare. She says, “I adore Zweena Argan Rose Rejuvenating Serum‘s delicate scent and light texture. The oil is not heavy and absorbs into the skin effortlessly. It can be used for any skin type. Even if you are oily or in the summer months, it’s perfect when mixed with a light gel serum. I apply the Argan Rose Serum either directly to the face or simply add a few drops into a peptide or hyaluronic acid serum for those clients with combination skin. I decided to carry Zweena Argan Elixirs in my practice because I love the moisturizing benefits of the argan oil! In addition, once I saw that the Argan Rose Serum contains rejuvenating Rosehip Seed oil, rich in Vitamin C and native to my Central European country, I was sold! The uplifting scent of roses tops the experience. The result? Glowing, happy, balanced skin!”

She says: “We love using Zweena Pure Organic Argan Oil in our facials. When your skin is in need of extra nourishment, Argan is a wonderful oil as it doesn’t clog the pores. It’s emollient but lightweight so it doesn’t feel heavy on your skin. It can be massaged into dry skin to replenish and soften, or a drop or two can be used on more oily skin to help balance oil production and help diminish any surface dryness sometimes associated with acne prone skin. Zweena Argan Oil a wonderful source for this special oil.” Full post here.

Beauty and wellness advocate Sarita Coren writes: Zweena which means “beautiful” in Moroccan, harnesses the anti-aging benefits of elegant Moroccan rose oil and combines it with hydrating argan oil, rosehip seed oil, pomegranate seed oil, and evening primrose oil for its intoxicating blend, Argan Rose Rejuvenating Serum, $58. It boasts USDA Organic certification, as well as ECOCERT certification. I love this company’s candid story and its attention to pure natural ingredients, sustainable harvesting, and support of women in fair-trade cooperatives. But it’s the addition of rose oil that really sets this product apart from other argan oil options.

Beauty blogger and natural beauty advocate Kim Loc writes, “Rose lovers rejoice! If you like argan + rose,  Argan Rose Rejuvenating Serum is for you. I found myself feeling a bit more beautiful while using this oil (roses can do that to a gal), and that’s testimony enough to the power of simple beauty…This is an oil for lavishing in your own natural beauty, imperfections and all, and enjoying an aromatic treat that puts you in the right mood at either the beginning or end of your day.”

The beautiful Katie, beauty blogger at The Green Product Junkie, writes: “Like rose? Yeah, me too. Zweena Argan Rose Rejuvenating Serum is hydrating and smells so great, I keep re-applying…ahhh! I’ve tried one other rose oil-infused face oil, but I found the scent to be far too over-powering. I love the scent of rose, but in small, pretty doses. Zweena’s is just that…I’ve tried many argan oil blends, but this is, by far, my favorite.” Read Katie’s full review here.

Run On Organic

An active, organic & healthy way of living is what Jesica, the lovely blogger behind Run On Organic, shares with her readers. After using Zweena Argan Elixirs, she writes: “I have always heard of Argan oil, but had yet to try it. The best way to try something is in its pure form so, enter: Zweena. Using this oil on my face appears to treat all of the problems you could have with your skin. For me, it’s mostly redness, blemishes and dry skin (around lips and nose) in the winter months. I find it to be everything it promises to be. It is entirely organic and effective–what more could you ask for in a facial oil? I have been pleased with this oil. I apply it to my face right after washing–using the droplets of water still on my face to spread the oil on evenly and easily. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a purely organic product to apply to their skin.” Read full review here.
