Alicia Keys: Make-Up Free and Liberated!

By | Natural Beauty, Self Care | No Comments

We want to congratulate Alicia Keys for her liberating decision to stop wearing make-up! She wrote about her struggles and stress for having to look a certain way in public in this great article for Lenny. The first time she was make-up free for a photo shoot she said “I swear it is the strongest, most empowered, most free, and most honestly beautiful that I have ever felt.” We love her final thought and hope it will begin the shift of consciousness that will emanate out to all women.

“I don’t want to cover up anymore,” Alicia wrote in Lenny. “Not my face, not my mind, not my soul, not my thoughts, not my dreams, not my struggles, not my emotional growth. Nothing.”

Sounds good to us! Let’s let our natural beauty, love and brilliant ideas shine out for all to see.

A Prayer for Whole Body Blessings

We love this prayer of self-love by Laura Vesta. We recommend you look in the mirror and say it every day! Feel free make it your own.

Mother Goddess who I love,

Creator, Universal One

(insert your beloved life force name here),

I call upon you in gratitude for this life and

all its beauties. I call on my ancestors,

my guardians and guides in the spirit of blessing,

of joy and remembrance for all that has come before.

I offer my heart in blessings and ask for your blessing in return.

Bless my eyes that I may see the wonder of the present.

Bless my lips that I may form words of love and reverence.

Bless my tongue that I may taste variety and be fully fed.

Bless my nose that I may recall the depth of the senses.

Bless my neck and shoulders, that they may carry my chosen weight.

Bless my arms that I may fully embrace the YES with love.

Bless my breasts that I may give and receive nourishment.

Bless my systems within, breath and pulse, miracles all.

Bless my belly that I may realize fulfillment.

Bless my sidewaists that make stretching into joy.

Bless my hips and pelvis, generous gravity, container of the holy womb.

Bless my womb and ovaries, gestation home, creative seeds.

Bless my ass that I may remember when to sit, when to jump.

Bless my vagina, her wisdom and her pleasure.

Bless my legs and feet, the journey is their strength.

Bless my hands, the channel for my art.

Bless my head, my brain, my mind and spirit.

Bless all that made way for this body and this life, right now.

May I go forward in beauty, whole and wholly loved.
